Question
What functions will CHRIS be able to
perform when it is implemented in March?
Answer
For Phase 1, CHRIS will generally be able to perform
those functions currently performed in the Payroll/Personnel
System. The actual way those functions are performed
should be much easier than in the current system. Some
of those functions include: personnel actions, payroll
processing, benefits and leave tracking.

Question
What will CHRIS not cover in Phase I?
Answer
Phase I will not include automated time and attendance
capture and input for all departments, which is a primary
objective for the long-term CHRIS Project. The capture
and input of this data is currently performed in departments
in a variety of ways from paper to electronically. for
the few departments currently utilizing an electronic time
and attendance capturing system, Phase I of CHRIS will
include the development of an interface between the system
and CHRIS, eliminating the need for manual data entry.
Realizing that a new time and attendance solution for all
departments is one of the most important and beneficial
HR-related issues to address, every effort will be made to
provide an automated system for all departments in the next
implementation phase of CHRIS as resources are made
available.
Other future project phases, just to name a few, may
include: tuition reimbursement, grievance tracking,
and individual performance management.
